July 4th plans?

What is everyone doing for July 4th? Are gas prices keeping you in town? Where will you watch fireworks?
Do you have any good ideas on how to celebrate on the cheap?
We usually go somewhere for July 4, but I can't stand the thought of filling up my car any more than I have to.

Just depends on what you really like to do and how far around Wake County you are willing to drive. I've lived here 20+ years and been to fireworks in Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Wake Forest, Rolesville. If you just want a fabulous fireworks, you can't beat the Raleigh fireworks at the Fairgrounds (but you do have to be willing to deal with all the other people). If you are looking for kid entertainment, Wake Forest has wonderful kids activities on July 4th day. Cary and Garner have the Symphony in addition to the fireworks, so that is really neat if you like music.
I don't think we have decided yet; they all have their appeal and their drawbacks.
